HEALTH AND SAFETY

1.1 Adamson Construction Services will strive to achieve a safe working environment, and continually work to reduce the risk of accidents and health problems. It acknowledges and accepts its legal responsibilities for securing the health, safety and welfare of all its employees, of sub-contractors working on its behalf and all others affected by their activities.

1.2 Adamson Construction Services will provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions so far as is reasonably practicable.

1.3 Adamson Construction Services will encourage all employees to be actively involved in maintaining safe operating conditions and practices. It is part of our policy to engage employees in consultations on health and safety matters.

1.4 Adamson Construction Services will carry out a regular review of this policy to ensure that these standards of health and safety are maintained. Health & Safety is of utmost importance to our company and trade and is always included in all company strategy and planning.

1.5 Overall and final responsibility for health and safety is that of Dan Adamson (Managing Director).

1.6 To ensure health and safety standards are maintained and improved, the following people
have responsibility in the following areas:

2.1 The Managing Director of Adamson Construction Services has overall responsibility
for health and safety in the Company, and will:

  • ensure suitable financial provision is made for health & safety obligations
  • provide appropriate information and instruction to employees in accordance with the Health & Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996
  • ensure work is planned to take into account health & safety issues

2.2 All employees shall:

  • co-operate with supervisors and managers on health and safety matters;
  • not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their health and safety;
  • take reasonable care of their own health and safety and of those around them; and
  • report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person (as detailed in
    this policy statement).

2.2.1 Adamson Construction Services is a member of both the Preston Construction Safety Association Ltd and the National Federation of Builders and receives information, advice and training on health and safety issues from them.
